This report presents forecast and recent quarter review of overall Taiwanese mobile handheld device shipment volume. The report includes forecast and recent quarter review of Smartphone shipment volume, shipment value, and APS, and analyzes manufacturer volume rankings, shipment by maker, and price trends. It provides shipment breakdowns by system technology, operating systems, display, embedded Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and GPS, and examines production locations, shipment destinations, and customer portfolios. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with Smartphone makers. The report finds that Taiwanese Smartphone shipment volume's double-digit year-on-year growth in the first quarter of 2010 continued into the second quarter. ASP (Average Selling Price) of the Taiwanese Smartphone industry slightly picked up in the second quarter of 2010, but ASP is estimated to experience decline in the third quarter. It is projected that the industry's shipment volume and value will see double-digit sequential and year-on-year growth in the third quarter of 2010. |
